While we all dream of doing something important to help save the world’s last remaining wild places, here is a story by and about a man who has dedicated his life to doing just that – Almir Narayamoga Suruí, chieftain of the Paiter Suruí tribe, and world-renowned leader in the fight to save the Amazon rainforest. Despite numerous death threats, Chief Almir has tirelessly waged a war of diplomacy with the loggers, miners, poachers, ranchers and settlers who threaten the land, the livelihood, and the very culture of his people and other indigenous tribes in the region.
